Using Page Query Strings in Content Analytics and Heat Maps

By default, Heat Maps ignores query parameters and treats pages with the same path as the same page. If your site depends on query parameters to identify unique pages, add those parameters here.

Setting Up Page Query Strings

Setting up page query strings is a snap. Simply click on the "Settings" tab within either Heat Maps or Content Analytics then add the query parameters within the text area.

What's A Query Parameter?

Not sure how to identify a Query Parameter? No problem! Here's an example:

If the URL is http://testsite.com/?hello=1 the query parameter in this case would be hello.

So if you wanted to record your clicks/stats on the following URLs:

You would separate the query parameters with spaces and put them within the text area like so:

You're done! Now you are recording on URL paths containing query parameters :)
