Installing Sumo on Shopify



If you have not already signed up for Sumo, check out the Getting Started with Sumo Guide before following the instructions below.


 

Install via Shopify App

Already have Sumo installed on your Shopify website? No problem! If you install the app, your Sumo SiteID will be imported from your theme and we'll make a backup of your theme.

  1. Login to your website's Shopify Admin Dashboard.
  2. Go to the Shopify App Store. Search Sumo and then click Get
     
  3. Click Install App to finalize your installation of Sumo
     
  4. Click on Connect Sumo in order to attach your account to access your Sumo apps and settings.
     
  5. Enter in the Sumo account credentials you have already made, or create a new account.
     
  6. Now that you're connected, click on My Apps to turn on the apps you would like to use.
     
  7. In order to upgrade to Pro, you can click on Store from your Shopify App's Sumo Dashboard or from within the Sumo Home.

Uninstall via Shopify App

  1. Click on the Apps panel on the side panel of your Shopify Admin
  2. Click on the Delete icon next to the Sumo app

Install Manually

  1. Login to your Shopify Dashboard and click on Online Store in the menu on the left.
  2. Click Themes.
  3. Click the ellipses.
  4. Click Edit HTML/CSS within the drop down menu.
  5. Click theme.liquid.
  6. Paste the Sumo code inside of the head tags within "theme.liquid" (make sure that the code is in between the two head tags). Then click Save.
  7. Click the icon to view your online store located in the upper left hand side of the menu.
  8. Congrats, you're all done! Navigate to the top right corner of your website and enter your Sumo credentials to start using Sumo!.

Uninstall Manually

  1. Login to your Shopify Dashboard and click on Online Store in the menu on the left.
  2. Click Themes.
  3. Click the ellipses.
  4. Click Edit HTML/CSS within the drop down menu.
  5. Click theme.liquid.
  6. Remove the Sumo code inside of the head tags within "theme.liquid" (the code should be in between the two head tags). Then click Save.
